Join the Conversation on the Official Hack or Slash Subreddit

Since 2017, Hack or Slash has been built around one simple idea: horror is for everyone.

Our ultimate goal has been to foster an environment in which conversations about horror movies serve as catalysts for enriching conversations between people. Not just quick reactions or final scores, but the messy, passionate, hilarious debates that happen after the credits roll. Did the third act save it? Was the killer iconic, ridiculous, or both? Did the dog survive, and do we need emotional compensation?

Horror is better when we talk, laugh, cry, and argue about it together.

We’re excited to share our official subreddit, r/hackorslashpod, gives those conversations a new home.

What You’ll Find on r/hackorslashpod

The subreddit is a place for listeners, horror fans, and internet goblins of all experience levels to talk about the movies we cover, the movies we should cover, and the horror moments that refuse to leave our brains.

You can expect posts like:

  • Discussion threads for new Hack or Slash episodes
  • Questions tied to recent reviews and B-side topics
  • Horror hot takes, recommendations, and community debates
  • Watch party conversations and event reminders
  • Movie requests and listener theories
  • General horror chatter with people who actually want to hear your ranking of the Friday the 13th franchise

Whether you’ve listened to every episode since 2017 or just found us because you had strong feelings about one movie, you’re welcome there.

Why Reddit?

Our Discord is still the heart of the Hack or Slash community. That’s where we host live recordings, watch parties, ongoing conversations, and all the weird little side quests that make this community feel alive.

The subreddit gives us something a little different.

Reddit is perfect for slower, more focused conversations. It’s easier to jump into a specific thread, share a theory, answer a question, or revisit an episode discussion after the moment has passed. It also gives horror fans who are not ready to dive into a full Discord server an easy way to connect with the show. Think of it as another unlocked door in our house.

Come Post With Us

To kick things off, we’ll be sharing regular prompts, episode discussions, horror questions, and community posts throughout the week.

Introduce yourself, tell us what you’ve been watching, drop a hot take, ask for a recommendation, or make your case for why a movie we hacked deserved better. We’ll see you in the comments!
