GOOOOOOOD MORNING CAMPERS! *cue bugle tune*

Let us be the first to welcome you to a fun-filled summer here at Camp Hack or Slash! These next few weeks are going to be PACKED with some good old fashioned gore, games and memories of simpler times when your only worries were bunk checks and that ominous mysterious figure that lurked in the woods after dark that was probably a made up story…probably.

All summer long your kooky cast of camp counselors, under the wise and watchful eye of Camp Director Kris will be helping you make the most of this year’s Summerween. Whether it’s talking about their favorite picks for a spooky summer watch party or what goes into constructing the perfect s’more, these folks are in the know!

So, as you zip up your backpacks, board the bus and wave farewell to your parents (it’s ok if you tear up a little!), here are a few things to keep in mind to hit the ground running when you arrive at Camp Hack or Slash!

• Dive into the Camp Hack or Slash spirit! There will be opportunities all summer long for you to show your love for Camp Hack or Slash and the many things that make Summerween such a special time of year. Watch parties, game nights, questions of the day, all of it will allow you to earn points for your team as you all compete for a full year of bragging rights and maybe a fun prize or two from the camp counselors!

• Gather ‘round the campfire! Camp Counselor Chel will be lovingly tending to the virtual Hack or Slash Campfire this summer in Discord. Think of it as a place for all of us to gather ‘round and connect across the (symbolic) fire. We want you to share your favorite spooky stories (real or Reddit), maybe share some of your favorite camp songs and memories.

• Make new friends! The old camp adage goes “Make new friends, keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold.” And we truly believe that here at Camp Hack or Slash, bonds can be formed over bloodshed, pals created over paranormal encounters. So, if you’ve been waiting for a sign to introduce yourself around the Hack or Slash discord, now is the perfect time!

• Celebrate your true colors! Like any self-respecting camp, Camp Hack or Slash will foster some friendly competition in the form of the Camp HoS COLOR WARS! All of those fun things planned? They’ll be chances for you to rack up points for your Color War team! Make sure you land on a Color War team by answering the poll in the Hack or Slash Discord that will be coming out SOON! That is how we know who wants to be added to a Color War team.

And, after the final bonfire at the end of August, we will all gather around the (virtual) campfire to say farewell to the end of Summerween. But cry not, dear campers! Because at the close of Summerween, we will be opening up for Spooky Season, which will have its own schedule of fun, games and spooky shenanigans.

So, once again, WELCOME to Camp Hack or Slash! Enjoy yourself, make some friends and have a good old Summerween time.
