Slasher Digest: May 2025
Hang on — I think we’re having a premonition!

We’re looking at a smokin’ hot summer filled with a lot of action from the show, but even more than that — our Spooky Season is lurking around the corner.
Until then, let’s look back on May. We had a month filled with momentum. We released five full episodes, dropped a new bonus, hosted multiple community events, and saw a wave of new listenership—especially after our Final Destination: Bloodlines episode. It’s always exciting when a franchise we’ve long loved pulls in a new crowd, and I’m thrilled to see so many of you discovering the show for the first time.
We also experimented with some new content formats. I converted our Previously on Fear Street blog post into a full YouTube video—not just an audio upload, not just a recap from a livestream, but a proper video experiment in the new studio setup I’ve been building piece by piece. I’d love your feedback on that test run, because it’s a format I’d like to keep refining. And I’m finally dialing in my space and video rig, which means more visual content might be creeping your way soon.
Behind the scenes, we’ve been keeping our eyes on what’s ahead. Friday the 13th is coming up in June—and for those of us who know the lore, it hits even harder when it falls during Jason Voorhees’s birthday month. The summer months always feel like a ramp-up to Spooky Season, and while this year’s approach will look a little different, I’m genuinely excited for what’s coming.
Thank you for being part of this wild ride. Whether you joined us for the Jason X live recording, dropped your thoughts during our Fear Street: Prom Queen watch party, or just tuned in while running errands or winding down, we’re grateful you’re here. You make all of this possible.

Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

A chillingly elegant sequel that dares to ask what happens after the monster is made. Bride of Frankenstein blends gothic horror with surprising wit, delivering one of the most iconic moments in classic horror history.
Jason X (2001)

This Friday the 13th, celebrate Jason Voorhees’s birthday with his most outrageous kill streak yet—in space. Jason X is a gloriously campy, futuristic slasher that proves you can’t cryogenically freeze pure evil.
28 Weeks Later (2007)

Six months after the rage virus tore through the UK, military forces return to rebuild—only to realize the nightmare isn’t over. 28 Weeks Later raises the stakes with harrowing set pieces and an unrelenting pace.
28 Years Later (2025)

Details are still under wraps, but 28 Years Later promises to revive the franchise with a fresh, terrifying chapter. Now’s the perfect time to revisit the infected chaos that started it all.

We fought to survive a night of terror with Until Dawn (2025).
We stared fate in the face with Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025).
We faced off against masked mayhem with Clown in a Cornfield (2025).
We returned to Shadyside for a killer dance with Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025).
